Characters

Name: Pikmin and Olimar
Video Game Debut: Pikmin [GCN]
About: The spaceman from the planet Hocotate and his plant-like followers appear for their turn to battle it out in the latest game of the Smash Bros series. Captain Olimar may not appear to be the toughest character in the game, but accompanied by the Pikmin, he can pose a great threat. The humanoid friends, as a result, are essential for Olimar to do battle, and without them, he cannot perform even the more basic of techniques such as smash attacks. This concept emphasizes the symbiotic relationship between the two, also demonstrating how strength can be obtained through numbers.

Special Moves
Standard Special: Pikmin Pluck
In order to prepare himself for combat, Olimar must first uproot a few Pikmin from the ground beneath him, for a maximum of 6 followers at any time. Each type of Pikmin has its advtangages and is more likely to appear on specific kinds of terrain. Also, the order in which you use the Pikmin is determined by the order in which they follow. As a captain, he'll want to have as many Pikmin as possible at any time in order to fight at his maximum. If Olimar runs out, unfortunately, the number of available skills and techniques are significantly reduced, something which has a large impact on his strength.

The Red Pikmin has a high attack power, is immune to fire, and delivers attacks imbued with incendiary properties.

The Yellow Pikmin travels in an arc when thrown, has a slightly larger range of attack than usual, and possesses attacks imbued with electrical properties.

The Blue Pikmin is strong when thrown and is slightly more durable than the others in combat.

The Purple Pikmin doesn't travel very far when thrown, is fairly slow, but has a high attack power and slams into enemies instead of latching on when thrown.

The White Pikmin are the quickest and lightest of the bunch, and also deal additional damage to opponents when latched on due to poison.

Standard Special: Pikmin Throw
Olimar can throw his Pikmin for them to latch on to opponents with this move. Enemies' damage meters will slowly rise for each Pikmin attached.

Up Special: Pikmin Chain
The Pikmin will form a chain for this move. It is a very helpful recovery technique, although it's important to note that the rane of the skill is directly dependant on the number of Pikmin available.

Down Special: Pikmin Order
All Pikmin return to you with this move, reuniting those who have wandered off during battle. You can also switch between which is at the front of the line with this skill.

Final Smash: End of Day
What's this? Olimar is leaving in his ship, the Dolphin?

The ship suddenly departs, leaving as night time falls upon the stadium.

In the Pikmin world, night is a dangerous time as large creatures roam about. The same concept is present as opponent receive various damage.

Finally, the ship returns the battlefield with a big bang, damaging those unlucky enough to be caught in its trajectory.
